I covered the NBA or National Basketball Association; they have posted and that was for the advertising of their season starting and for the upcoming in season tournament which is the first time it has happened.  The fans are having mixed reactions to this, some people think that this disrupts the flow of the season and although it adds more games to the regular season, becomes an overall disruption to the league. Many people also think the way that the tournament is structured is too complicated. However, the fans that are in favor of the tournament show strong favoritism for it. The tone of these posts is to try to show excitement and strong backing behind this in season tournament.  The league needs to do more promotion besides these things at the end of the month. This week’s Instagram posts have been lighthearted showcasing two players doing a “This or That” replacing it with who has a better pregame routine.?  The other is a repost of the Utah Jazz’s practice and the showcase of Maleek Thomas’s performance in the Nike World Basketball Festival.

This week in the NBA there was a blockbuster trade involving former Portland Trailblazers star Damien Lillard being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. The vast majority of the coverage this week was on the all- star joining an already highly competitive team in the NBA’s Eastern Conference along side Star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Many fans are exited about this star duo and are exited to see the Bucks make a push for the NBA finals. In addition to the excitement from fans there is also the growing resentment from fans of the other teams in regards to the NBA just having “ super teams.” Something to also note is that these Portland fans that have watched Damien play these last few years and are hoping he gets a ring. Only time will tell on how this trade goes. However the NBA has mainly focused on Dames arrival on their Instagram. The posts consist of him getting his new gear, showing off his jersey and a clip of him shooting around at the Bucks practice facility.

This weeks coverage of the NBA’s instagram was much more filled with content than previous weeks with the start of the NBA’s preseason. The biggest game came from the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angelas Lakers. This game has had the most coverage from the official NBA instagram account because of the highly scoring, star studded power of these two teams. The Warriors being lead by Stephen Curry and newly appointed teammate Chris Paul, and their opposition in arguably the best player of all time Lebron James and mulipe time NBA all star in Anthony Davis. Many Warriors fans are extatic on Chris Pauls debut for the team. Other fans are skeptical on the injury prone Pauls helath and wellness and are apprehensive of the players availibilty this season. Although the fans are worried they are at least happy with how their first preseason game went, many fans are rallying to support and deny those claims that were previously mentioned before. Some wonder why there is so much effort bbeing put into a pre season game, everyone can agree taht they are glad to have basketball back.

With the NBA preseason wrapping up and the regular season is upon us the NBA’s Instagram has taken the time to showcase the vast range of talent put fourth by its players. The two posts with the highest engagements this week were detailing the best plays and the best dunks of the preseason. These types of posts draw in a lot of attention because it’s the highest intensity level of play and who doesn’t love a good highlight reel?! All of these posts contain engagements from users describing what they think of these plays and various opinions regarding the players. Fans are ready to start watching the regular season, many are chomping at the bit to see their teams go head to head for the first time in competition where the wins and losses matter.

The first week of NBA reguation competition went underway this week and it was filled with many exiting matchups like the Eastern Confrence Final rematch of the Boston Celtics and the Miani Heat which saw the highly decorated celtics roster Lead by Jason Tatum turn victorious. Another thing worthy of being noticed is the Chicago Bulls All Star Zach Lavine have a career high 51 points in the Bulls matchup aginst the Detroit Pistons. This time is when the NBA’d instagram is the most active because we are now in season and all of the pregame outfits and hightlights are being presented to its viewers. As far as the account presentation they have added new graphics for the presentation of high point scorers. The user engagment is at a much larger number than before because the biggest time in the season is when it starts and the finals.

The NBA had yet another exiting week of competition, teams continue to battle it out in the regular season as well as the NBA in season tournament. This saw the debut of all of the new in season tournament courts, as well as jerseys. These designs have had mixed reviews from fans but most fans enjoy them overall. The NBA is definitley trying to bring some of that personalization and team culture to the tournament which I really enjoy. The leagues instegram has been keeping up with this very well as well as doing the norma showcasing of the highlights of the players from that nights game. These are included to big plays, high scoring players, players with high ststistics, as well as funny moments.

This week in the NBA there was much more of the same, this is not a bad thing just the typical in season highlight reels and big plays. The main story was the at home debut of James Harden and the Los Angelas Lippers who has yet to play a game this season. This was also his debut for the clippers alongside teammate Russel Westbrook. Many Clippers fans are outraged at the slow start the season has had. The multi time all star James Harden didnt deliver and fans are upset about the trade that was made to help elevate the team after loosing Chris Paul. Also this week was involved a huge performance in Philadelphia, especially by star player Joel Embid.

In the final installment of the blog project as well as my covering of the NBA’s instagram. In this final week the NBA continued with their status quo, that being the coverage of games with features of high scoring players and highlight plays. Over the course of this project I have observed the NBA’s instagram from the preseason into the current season, as well as the NBA’s first in season tournament. There was many blockbuster events that took place like the Diamond Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks. Overall the fan engagement was great. Basketball fans are always hyped up and intense whist voicing their opinions. The mixed reviews came from the in season tournament saying that its a pointless tournament with no reward besides a check and a trophy. Recently I even asked some friends and they all came to the consenus that the NBA atletes make too much money as it is, why is the league giving them more money?

Project Reflection

Over the course of this project I learned that there is a lot that goes into the business side of these interviews. I know that the applicants have to be prepared but, I didn’t anticipate how much went into the interviewers’ side. The drafting of the job description and the questions that needed to be asked to the applicants was what stood out to me the most. Also going second in the mock interviews as well as being interviewed on the first day really helped me ask the right questions and know what to look for in a candidate when you’re the interviewer.

What I Learned about planning for job interviews is that you have to have a specific candidate in mind that implements your job description. You also have to keep in mind that it is somewhat unlikely that an applicant is going to have everything that you’re looking for. Also you need to be well equipped with followup questions as well as any additional questions that you may have for some applicants. With that being said you also have to be ready to answer any question that the applicant may ask you.

What it is like to experience the role of an interviewer and observer is that there is still an immense amount of pressure because just because you are giving the interview and therefore have the power, you are still receiving a grade and are under pressure. So, you are trying to be as diligent and as invested in the simulation as possible. It is easier when you are interviewing people than being an observer. As an observer, I found myself trying to cram all the information in at once because of how many people were talking.

As an interviewee I found myself under a lot of self inflicted pressure, I wanted to take it as seriously as possible. So that means that I took it as seriously as I possibly could. I prepared myself for the variety of questions that can be asked from the interviewing team of Rolling Clouds. Going second in the interviews really helped me pick out what they are looking for and get a feel for what was working. This also helped me realize that because this was a mock interview, I had to think of things on the fly and make up some things about my qualifications for the sake of the mock interview. For example, I am a sophomore and I do not have a communications degree from The University of New England.

At the end of the project I found myself learning more than I anticipated, I found out some of the inner workings of the corporate world. Specifically on the interviewers side. I learned of the preparation and readiness that one has to possess in order to properly conduct an interview. The observation portion helped me pay attention to things all at once.

In conclusion, this project overall helped me attain a better grasp on the corporate world and professional interviews because of the preparation and especially the mock interviews that took place in class. This project has  definitely helped me prepare for these types of interviews in the future.
